Pipe Fabrication & Installation
A ship’s piping network is its circulatory system, moving everything from fuel and ballast to cargo and conditioned air. When that network leaks, corrodes, or vibrates itself loose, operational safety and charter performance suffer immediately. Ship’s Solutions therefore treats each pipe renewal as both a metallurgical and a hydrodynamic challenge. Using 3-D laser scanners, we capture millimetre-perfect point clouds of congested engine-room spaces, avoiding guesswork and rework. Our design office then generates spool drawings complete with bending radii, support brackets, and expansion-loop calculations so thermal growth never translates into fatigue cracks. Whether the specification calls for carbon-steel, stainless, Cu-Ni 90/10 or exotic duplex alloys, we source plate from ISO-9001 mills, perform spectrographic PMI on arrival, and log heat numbers for full traceability through to class survey.

Fabrication takes place in our climate-controlled workshops on CNC mandrel benders and orbital welding rigs programmed for pore-free root passes. Welders carry multi-process certifications to ASTM IX and undergo quarterly re-validation. Each weld seam is inspected with digital radiography or phased-array ultrasonic testing, and the resulting DICONDE files are appended to the vessel’s technical dossier. Hydrostatic or pneumatic testing follows, with calibrated gauges and differential‐pressure recorders logging real-time graphs that prove system integrity under 1.5 × design pressure. We then apply marine-grade epoxy or neoprene lagging as required to combat both galvanic and microbiological corrosion. For LNG or LPG carriers, we can add spray-foam insulation with embedded heat-tracing elements to maintain cryogenic temperatures without condensation.
Seamless Turn-Key Delivery
Installation is orchestrated to dovetail with other dry-dock tasks, minimising critical-path clashes. Prefabricated spools arrive gang-tagged and shrink-wrapped in sequence so deck crews can ‘plug and play’ without time-wasting lay-down searches. Our rigging teams handle lifts through narrow hatch coamings using chain hoists and spreader bars equipped with load cells; every lift is engineered to LOLER standards and signed off by a Class A surveyor. Once stitched together on board, systems are flushed with deionised water, dosed with biocide, and passivated. Finally, we deliver an endurance run under full operational parameters, logging flow, temperature, and vibration for 12 hours to demonstrate flawless performance.
The benefit to owners is simple: maximised plant uptime, reduced environmental risk, and a documented trail of compliance that satisfies even the strictest PSC inspections. Over the past five years we have completed more than 22 kilometres of ballast, fuel, and cargo piping across tankers, bulkers, and offshore support vessels, with zero leaks reported after hand-over. From design concept to sea trial, Ship’s Solutions delivers a truly turnkey pipe solution that keeps your vessel—and your charter reputation—flowing smoothly.
